THE ULTIMATE TREE ORNAMENT

I COULD MAKE, CREATE AND CRAFT TILL THE COWS COME HOME AND I WOULD NEVER EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE TALENTS OF GOD'S CREATURES! I NEVER TIRE OF WAKING EACH MORNING AND SEEING THESE TWO WONDERFUL ORIOLE"S NESTS HANGING FROM THE FICUS TREE NEAR MY BED. ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO, MY STEP-DAD RESCUED ONE FROM A FELLED TREE THAT WAS DESTINED FOR FIREWOOD. ANOTHER WAS FOUND IN THE WINTER ABOUT 5 YEARS LATER, AFTER AN ICE STORM HAS CAUSED MANY BRANCHES TO BREAK AND FALL. SO THESE WERE RESCUED NESTS AND WERE NOT ROBBED FROM THE TREES. I WAS JUST FORTUNATE TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PRESERVE THESE BEAUTIES THAT WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE BEEN DESTROYED.

Hi Judy, Well you could certainly come in a close second in the creating department. But these really are beautiful. I love nests of all kinds, but I've never seen one of these close up. The cutest thing I've seen in our yard is a nest that the robins have built and they have found a scrap of pretty fabric and woven in into their nest in one of the crabapple trees. It makes me smile every time I see it. On our property where we pasture the horses, we have several hornets that build their huge nests high up in the aspen trees. They are such works of art as well. Scary, but pretty.

Oh yes, I too have a huge crush on Kevin Kline...sigh. I will have to rent January Man because I haven't seen it yet. Now it will be on my bucket list.
Thank you so much Judy for your sweet words about the whole hair thing. I'm feeling much better since I got it trimmed up a bit.
hugs

Hello Miss Judy, I love these nest's and I love the things you create, I want to do one of those wreath's, I especially love the cream one with the bell. Oh, I love those little glass stars filled with buttons.

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas now because I won't be back around untill after the hollidays. If I don't get some things done there won't be a Christmas.

sure love ya

Your nests are indeed the most beautiful ornaments on earth...God is far more talented than any of us...though your creations are also a treat to look at!

Hi Judy! Thanks for your nice note on our blog. Well, I got fitted for bi-focals this week, so I'm pretty sure the raisin thing is definitely on the horizon!! Love your recent projects. Have a wonderful holiday -- we will look forward to seeing you at the Winter Market (trying to think of a new name -- I think they should call it the St. Charles Antique Market -- DuPage is too close to Wheaton's name!) xo
