JUST MESSING AROUND

I just love silk screening! I love the texture that is created when the paints are forced through the screen! i also love it that one can create original designs. I'm sure in time I will tire of this new toy, but for now I love messing around with it.........I found this wonderful, really shabby, window over the week-end. I really liked that it had old white paint on the window panes and when I looked at it I knew instantly what I wanted to do with it. The fern and Queen Ann's lace stencils were made from some prints that Dawn, from the Feathered Nest blog site shared with us. They were exactly what I was looking for! Thank you, Dawn! The birds and nest were already in my file of SS. stencils.....I'M GETTING READY FOR A GARDEN & ANTIQUES SHOW AT THE ICE HOUSE IN BARRINGTON, IL. IT BEGINS APRIL 22 ~25, WITH A " PREVIEW NITE " ON APRIL 21. THE PROCEEDS FROM THIS NITE'S EVENT WILL BENEFIT HOSPICE. ...I will be sharing a large greenhouse room with friends and fellow dealers, Janice Kempf and Diane Passi. They are very upscale dealers, so we should have some wonderful, wonderful antique and garden curiosities for customers! If anyone needs more info, please e-mail me.

Here are a few more pillow designs. In the future, (slap my forehead), I will be making just the pillow covers, per standard sizes, to pare down the shipping charges!

Judy I adore how the window turned out. What a beautiful piece that will be to take to the show with you. And the pillows are so beautiful. I for one, hope you don't tire of the process very soon...it is such a treat to see what you will create next.
I hope we get to see many (or ALL) the pieces that you make to take to the show. I would love to see them.
hugs
I am so glad to hear that it benefits Hospice, I think that their contribution to us is immense. What a comfort they were to my mother when my father was dying.

Hello Judy,
Thank you for stopping by,
I adore the window I have a few of them in my shop...I just love the what you did with it. Really that is a first for me. I have seen the lithographs of botanicals like the ferns in the panes, but I really do not think I have seen that type of screening painted before like you did, it is great in that old window, plus it shows of your great work as a choice of design display. I really love the fern leave, only because that is the new hot look in euro chic design work.

The pillows are supper cool I have done some burlap ones but not gone as far as the screening on them, I guess I would rather buy them done :)

Would love to see how you display the items in your home ( A snoopy designer) He he!! :)

Keep on inspiring us out here we need all the help we can get :0

I'll be back real soon.

My favorite part of silk screening is that "shtsht" noise from the blade scraping the silk screen...If you make that noise, you will know what I mean :) good to see you Saturday. I may be coming to Greyslake next weekend. Will you be there?

Thank you Judy for stopping by, indeed we beat to the same heartbeat.

One of the tassels would look great attached to a pillow maybe one smaller like I did on my daughters lampshade that is posted on my blog.

Thank you for the great support you have given me!!

Cannot wait to see what next you come up with to post about!!

Inspiring and creating,
~Dore~
