WHITE WEDNESDAY (SORT OF)

EVEN THOUGH I TOOK THESE PHOTOS IN JUNE, I WANTED TO SAVE THEM FOR THE HALLOWEEN SEASON. THE CEMETERIES IN ENGLAND ARE FILLED WITH SOME VERY ANCIENT AND BEAUTIFUL HEAD STONES. IT WAS VERY PEACEFUL PLACE TO VISIT IN THE LIGHT OF DAY,BUT I WOULDN'T WANT TO BE ANY WHERE NEAR THEM AFTER THE SUN WENT DOWN AND THE NITE TIME FELL WITH IT'S TOTAL DARKNESS. EEUUU! JUST TO THINK OF IT MAKES THE HAIR ON THE BACK OF MY NECK STAND UP! SPOOKY!

Your "sort of" white wednesday is SO appropriate! I know lots of folks don't "do" cemeteries .... but many of the carvings and engravings are quite beautiful and hold symbolic representations of the persons interests, age, characteristics ... etc.
Thanks for sharing ...
Betty :)
PS ... right there with ya ... dark cemetery at night ... NOPE!

Judy, I can't think of a better white Wed. post for this time of year...but then I love cemetaries. I don't do them at night either. I think that second headstone is gorgeous. I don't care what they put me in to bury me, but I would love to have a beautiful stone like this one to mark my final resting place.
I'll bet the cemetaries in England are to die for.(sorry I couldn't help it). Really, I mean, I'll bet they are just beautiful. You are such a lucky girl to have seen this in person.
Hugs,
June
Will you be going to England this year?
