BIRDS MAKE THE NESTS THE BEST!

I can't seem to put away my bag of white wool and boxes of vintage lace! For some reason I'm having a great time playing with all the possibilities. I'm still sorting through the larger lengths and pieces to make wraps and scarves, but in running across all the little bits, I decided they need to be appreciated too. In a previous post, I blogged about a fantastic nest that was made mostly out of fur and hair of the animals of my friend's farmette. So I thought I would take a page out of the birdie's book, and make nests with what was available! There is no contest, of course, the birds win hands down! My nests would never survive a rain storm or high winds, or be able to raise a family, but I think they're kinda cute for home decor. I think I will make more of these and take them to the Kane County Flea Market in 2 weeks. I certainly have enough lace to do so!

Oh what an excellent use of little bits and pieces, the nests are so pretty. I have promised myself that I will make some nests when we are back in France again, with bits from the garden, but I cannot find little iddy biddy eggs to put in them anywhere.

Love your sweet soft nests with just a touch of angel vine. Are those felted wool eggs? Beautiful creations! :) Laura

Well Judy, I think they are right up there with the birdie's homes. And they are definitely in my color scheme too. I just love what you do with your little bits of leftovers. I think these little nests are so charming and I know that you will have great luck with these at the sale.
hugs to you dear one

Another gorgeous idea, Judy! These are amazing!
And I couldn't agree more about the birds winning hands down! I am currently working on a fairy-sized box w/ a bird's nest (for my shop when is reopens) made from grasses. Hubby thinks I'm crazy, but I LOVE bird nests! :)
Have a wonderful day,
Zuzu
